Major Benefits Of 3D Printing – 3D Print Models

In earlier times, 3d printing was not so advanced but with the passage of time and with the invent of latest technologies, this process becomes quite easier which delivers design rapidly with high accuracy level from functional materials. This gives the designer an upper hand of making a wiser decision when it’s about selecting the relevant manufacturing process which gives an optimal output.
Single step manufacture-
As per the traditional manufacturing process, each part of the machine is required to be designed with high efficiency. Because of the quality and manufacturability of design factors, this makes a huge amount of impact on the overall output. With the impact of the latest technology, additive manufacturing or 3d printing needs no interaction from the operator in the building stage. Once cad designs get finalized then it’s required to get uploaded to the machine and finally printing stage starts in a couple of hours. Thus in between many stages of grinding, welding, machining, painting etc reduces to a larger extent thereby giving designer overall control over the final product. And there its mass production, then all parts comes out of the assembly line in same size and structure.
Ideas develop faster-With the shrinking of development procedure printing ideas develop faster instead of months, parts get created in the matter of few days. This helps companies in staying ahead in the competitive world.
Design freedom and clear communication-generally it’s believed that describing products are often misinterpreted. Instead of tangible products which are considered as conceptual picture are always better than the description given. In the mass production, all parts come out of the assembly line with the same size and structure. Also because of 3d printing, some parts are customised and clutch as per customers requirements. Such customisation are generally used in jewelry, medical and dental industries and also in the fashion industry.
Get the real feel it is always better to hold the product in your hands to judge whether it fits ergonomically and also their testing and usage can be accessed from it. This is certainly not possible from a virtual world like a computer screen or in pictures.
Speed Increase –In the traditional method, it takes many weeks or days to get a prototype. But because of 3d printing, this process gets reduced to a larger extent as one can complex designs simply from the cad model and thereby the printing process occurs in a few minutes. Even rapid verification and design ideas can be developed in a fraction of seconds making this process of 3d printing so cost-effective and efficient in every way.
Cost reduces-There are 3 major costs like material costs, machine operation cost and labor cost which gets reduced to a larger extent
Machine operation cost-In 3d printing, Machine operation cost is a minimum contributor to the overall cost of the manufacturing as it consumes low energy just like a laptop or computer. But in industrial additive manufacturing technologies, it consumes larger energy in order to produce a single part. But this process of 3d printing provides higher efficiency and turn around as it easily produces complex geometries in a single step.
Labor cost- In 3d printing, labor cost is almost zero as only a single operator required to press the button. But in the traditional method, highly skilled and expert operators and machinists are required for such completely automatic process of 3d printing.
Material cost-It may vary according to the technologies used for additive manufacturing. Like SLA printing uses resins, SLS printing uses nylon, FDM printer uses filaments coils which are quite different in their price ranges Thereby making material cost as the major contributor to the cost of the parts.
